Packaged Fire Pump Systems

There are times when a completely packaged pumping system is required.  Fairbanks Morse, a long time leader in supplying fire pumps, also has the capability of designing, manufacturing and testing packaged, skid mounted fire pump systems.  All of these fire pump packaged systems are built to NFPA #20 and the National Electric Code (NEC) standards, and incorporate Underwriter's Laboratories, Inc. (UL) listed, and/or Factory Mutual System (FM) approved components.

Systems are designed so that piping and power are located at the edge of the skid.  The fabricated base is designed so that it can be fully grouted once the system is in place.

Packaged systems are available utilizing various fire pump types including: horizontal split case vertical in-line and vertical turbines.  The horizontal split case and vertical turbine fire pumps can be driven by either an electric motor or a diesel engine. 

Numerous arrangement configuration options are available with the Fairbanks Morse packaged designs.  Major components included with the fire pump packages are the fire pump, its driver, its controller and standard accessories and valves.  Controllers are factory pre-wired to the pump driver and their pressure switch sensing lines are pre-piped to the system side of the check valves.  Diesel engine driven units also include starting batteries, fuel tank and fuel lines factory piped to and from the engine.

Dual fire pump packaged systems are also available.  Systems can be supplied involving a diesel engine driven fire pump and an electric motor driven fire pump with all accessories mounted on a common fabricated base.

Packaged systems can be furnished with an enclosure building.  The all steel buildings are designed to meet specific environmental requirements and have easy access entries.  They include electric heaters with built-in thermostats and incorporate fluorescent interior lighting and flood lighted exterior.  Buildings are fully sprinklered.
